Today's FII and DII activity from NSE: cash-market net buy/sell in ₹ crore, participant-wise open interest in futures and options, and FII long % in index futures, with history back to 2021.
Every trading day NSE publishes provisional figures for foreign institutional investors (FII/FPI) and domestic institutional investors (DII) in the cash market: gross buy, gross sell and net buy/sell in ₹ crore. They usually appear in the evening, around 6 pm IST. This page charts both net figures day by day.
For history longer than NSE’s own daily series, the chart can switch to NSDL’s FPI daily trends, which run back to 2021.
NSE’s participant-wise open interest file splits every open F&O position between four participant types: Client, DII, FII and Pro (proprietary desks). For each one the page shows long and short contracts in index futures, stock futures, index calls and index puts, with the change from the previous session.
FII long % is the share of FIIs’ index-futures open interest that is long: long contracts divided by long plus short. It is a descriptive reading of how foreign positioning is split, charted over time.
NSE’s daily FII derivative statistics give FII buy, sell and open interest for each F&O product in both contracts and ₹ crore, which lets index-futures activity sit on the same rupee axis as the cash market.
NSDL reports FPI flows by reporting date, and a reporting date carries the previous session’s trades. NSDL covers foreign investors only, so it has no DII figure, and its numbers are never blended with NSE’s.
NSE provisional cash market, 21 Oct 2026: FII net +₹1,022 Cr, DII net +₹1,614 Cr. FII long % in index futures, 21 Oct 2026: 9.5%. Net figures are buy minus sell; a positive number is net buying.
This page shows the latest NSE provisional FII and DII cash-market net buy/sell, participant-wise F&O open interest and FII long % in index futures, updated every trading evening.
NSE releases provisional FII/FPI and DII cash-market figures each trading day, usually in the evening around 6 pm IST. Participant-wise open interest follows after the F&O session’s files are published.
FPI (foreign portfolio investor) is SEBI’s current registration category for overseas portfolio investors and replaced the older FII category. The two terms are used for the same group of investors.
Domestic institutional investors: Indian mutual funds, insurance companies, banks and pension funds.
NSE’s same-day figures are compiled from trades reported that day and can differ from the final numbers later published by NSDL, which use the settled data.
